Teal Alternative

Built for Product Managers and Product Designers. Not everyone.

Teal is a solid resume tool. It was not built for Product Managers or Product Designers. VibeHunting was.

In short: Teal is best for job seekers who want a general-purpose resume builder and Kanban tracker. VibeHunting is best for Product Managers and Product Designers who want an ATS score, a job-specific match score, and a curated feed of Product Manager and Product Designer roles, without stitching three tools together.

Why it's different

Where VibeHunting is a different product

1. Your job search was never a general problem.

Teal is built for every job seeker. That sounds like a feature. For a Product Manager or Product Designer, it is a limitation.

Product Manager roles have specific vocabulary: roadmap ownership, cross-functional alignment, PRD, stakeholder management, OKR cadence. Product Designer roles have theirs: design systems, user research, interaction design, Figma fluency.

When a general-purpose tool scores your resume, it scores it against general benchmarks. VibeHunting's Resume Analyzer was built to understand Product Manager and Product Designer role requirements specifically: what hiring managers at startups and MNCs actually look for in this category, not every category at once.

The score you get from VibeHunting is a Product Manager and Product Designer score. Not an "everyone" score.

2. A match score is only useful when you have something to match it against.

Teal's job description match tool works. You paste a JD, you get a score. That part is fine. The problem is Teal does not find you the jobs. You still need six tabs open, hunting across LinkedIn, Naukri, company career pages, and referral channels to find a JD worth pasting.

VibeHunting gives you the match score and the jobs in the same place.

Every listing on VibeHunting's curated feed is hand-verified: no ghost jobs, no scam posts, no roles that were filled three weeks ago and never taken down. You see the role, score your fit immediately, and decide whether it is worth your evening. That is one workflow, not three.

3. Your context should not disappear when you close the tab.

Every general-purpose resume tool starts from zero the next time you open it. You are the memory. You re-upload your resume, you re-paste the JD, you re-enter your target role.

VibeHunting stores your resume, your scores, and your job history in a single profile. The next time you check a new role, the tool already knows who you are. Your ATS score from last week, the jobs you have already matched, the edits you made after the last scan: all of it is there.

This is what we mean by CareerOS. Not a better resume tool. A job search that compounds.

Be honest

When you should use Teal instead

We think VibeHunting is the better tool for Product Manager and Product Designer job seekers. But we want to be direct about when Teal makes more sense.

Choose Teal if:

  • You are not a Product Manager or Product Designer. Teal is built for all job seekers. If you are in sales, engineering, marketing, or any other function, Teal's general-purpose tools will serve you better than VibeHunting's focused approach.
  • You need a full application tracking Kanban board today. Teal's job tracker is mature and well-designed. VibeHunting's tracker is not live yet.
  • You want cover letter generation built in. Teal has this. VibeHunting does not offer cover letter generation right now.

If any of those three apply to you, use Teal. This page exists to help you make the right decision, not to win a click.

FAQ

Your questions, answered

Is VibeHunting free?

Yes. The Resume Analyzer, JD Match tool, and the curated job feed all have a free tier. No credit card required to start. VibeHunting also offers a lifetime access plan for hunters who want premium features. See pricing.

How is VibeHunting's ATS score different from Teal's?

Both tools run your resume through a set of checks and return a score. The difference is what the score is calibrated against. VibeHunting's Resume Analyzer is built specifically for Product Manager and Product Designer roles. The signals it looks for (impact language, role-specific keywords, structural formatting for ATS systems that Product Manager hiring teams commonly use) are tuned for this category. Teal's checker is built for all roles. If you are a Product Manager applying to Product Manager roles, a Product Manager-specific score is more useful than a general one.

Does VibeHunting work for Product Designers too?

Yes. The curated job feed includes both Product Manager and Product Designer roles. The Resume Analyzer and JD Match tool work for both. Product Designer-specific signals are part of what the tool looks for.

What is a Job Fit Score?

Paste a job description into VibeHunting's JD Match tool and it returns a fit score: a number that tells you how well your current resume aligns with the specific role you are looking at. It compares your resume against the language, skills, and requirements in the job description. Teal calls their equivalent feature a Match Score. Both serve the same purpose. The difference is that on VibeHunting, the curated job listings are right there. You do not have to go find a JD to paste.

Does VibeHunting's resume tool invent experience I do not have?

No. VibeHunting's rule is this: we rewrite what you have done. We never invent what you have not. The Resume Analyzer and JD Match tool give you feedback and a score based on your actual resume. Nothing is added that is not already there.

Is my resume data safe?

Your resume is used only to generate your score and match results. It is not shared with employers or third parties. See VibeHunting's privacy policy for full details.

I am an aspiring Product Manager, not an experienced one. Does VibeHunting still help?

Yes. Many of the 4,446 registered hunters on VibeHunting are Product Manager and Product Designer aspirants targeting their first role. The Resume Analyzer tells you what is missing so you can close the gap. The curated job feed includes roles across experience levels: Associate Product Manager, APM programmes, and entry-level Product Designer roles.
